CLVCA (Cross-Language Voice Chat Application) is an offline-first voice translation app
built for privacy. We prioritize processing data locally on your device to ensure your conversations remain yours.
1. Data Collection
We collect only the minimal information necessary to provide and improve the application:
- Guest ID: Stored locally on the user's device and not transmitted to any server.
- Firebase User ID: For authenticated users to manage preferences and synchronization.
- Authentication Data: Basic information such as email and profile info provided via Google Sign-In.
- Device Information: Basic hardware details for application stability and optimization.
We do not collect or store voice conversations on any server.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
2. Voice Processing & Privacy
- Voice processing is primarily performed on-device to maintain maximum confidentiality.
- Speech-to-Text (STT) services may require intermittent internet access depending on system settings.
- Audio may be processed by third-party services (e.g., Google Speech Services).
CLVCA does not store, monitor, or have control over this external processing. No voice recordings are archived by our application.
3. Offline-First Approach
- The core translation features of CLVCA are designed to function entirely offline.
- Language models are downloaded and stored locally for on-device computation.
- No conversation data is transmitted externally during standard offline use.
4. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Communication
- Direct device-to-device communication is utilized for chat functionality.
- No central server acts as an intermediary or relay for live conversation data.
- Conversation logs are never stored on external cloud infrastructure.
5. Local Storage & Data Persistence
- Translation History: Your past conversations and translated text are stored directly on your device for your reference.
- App Configurations: Preferences such as language settings and theme mode are saved locally.
- User Control: Users have the absolute right to clear all history or reset the application data via the settings menu at any time.
We do not sync your conversation history to our servers unless you explicitly opt-in for cloud-based backup features (if available).
6. Permissions & Usage
To provide a seamless voice translation experience, CLVCA requires the following permissions:
- Microphone: Required strictly to capture voice for real-time translation. Audio is processed and immediately discarded.
- Bluetooth & Wi-Fi: Used for peer-to-peer discovery. This allows devices to find each other without a central server.
- Location: On certain Android versions, location permission is mandatory for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi scanning. We do not track your physical coordinates or movements.
- Nearby Devices: Required on Android 12+ to connect with friends for local voice chat.
- Camera: Used only for scanning QR codes or nearby device connection features. No photos, videos, or camera recordings are stored, monitored, or shared.
- Storage/Media: Used only to store downloaded offline language models and cached app configurations.
7. Third-Party Services & Advertising
We use industry-standard infrastructure and advertising partners to support our application:
- Firebase Authentication: For secure and seamless user login.
- Firestore: To store minimal user-related metadata, such as consent status.
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use certain data (such as Device ID, IP Address, and Advertising ID) to show relevant ads and analyze ad performance.
These services operate under their own privacy policies. You can manage your ad preferences through your device settings.
8. Support and Diagnostics
When you choose to contact our support team via email, the application may automatically pre-fill an email draft with optional diagnostic information. This includes:
- App Metadata: App version, device model, and OS version.
- Timestamp: The exact time the issue occurred for easier troubleshooting.
User Control: This diagnostic information is only sent if you manually click "Send" on your email client. You have the full right to review, edit, or delete any of this information from the email draft before sending it.
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect user information. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
10. User Control & Data Deletion
- Guest Mode: Available for users who prefer full anonymity without any cloud-based features.
- Data Deletion: You can permanently wipe your local history and cached models directly from the settings menu.
- Account Deletion: To delete your account and associated data (including Firebase metadata), please email us at clvca.official@gmail.com with the subject 'Account Deletion Request'. We will process your request and delete all associated records within 30 days.
11. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Your continued use of CLVCA signifies your acceptance of these terms.
12. Consent
By downloading, accessing, or using CLVCA, you agree to this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described herein.
13. Children’s Privacy
CLVCA is designed for a general audience and is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from children under 13.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data (such as an email address or profile info), please contact us immediately.
- If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take swift action to delete that information from our local storage and Firebase servers.
By using this application, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age or have the necessary parental consent to use the service.
